As reported by Vingt55, these residents of Domaine du Vigneron, located on rue du Sauvignon, had the unpleasant surprise of discovering their basements flooded. The reason? A water backflow problem. In some cases, several centimeters of water invaded their homes, plunging residents into chaos.
Le Vingt55 went to the site and met about ten of them, all facing the same problem. “It’s usually the drains under the washer that back up in our homes,” said some homeowners. Further down the road, other houses were more affected. A resident should call a specialist cleaning team.
A resident told Vingt55 that his basement was flooded and the damage was extensive. “Several centimeters of water covered my basement, which caused a lot of damage. This is the first time something like that has happened to me,” he said. So far, he has not received any information about the situation or the extent of the damage. “We are all in the same boat, which is also taking on water,” he added, declaring that he had called a team to clean up the damage.
Until now, the residents are still waiting for an explanation. The City of Drummondville is not releasing any information, as the matter is still under investigation.
Contacted by Vingt55, the Director of the communication department, Dominic Villeneuve, asked about the causes and extent of the damage, indicating that there is no information to disclose at the moment. “While we are investigating, no information can be disclosed at this stage” specified the Director of the communication department of the City of Drummondville.
