Many companies are investing in the electric two-wheeler segment. TVSO is also investing heavily in this segment. Last year, the company invested Rs 1,000 crore in it. Now TVS Motors has announced an investment of Rs 1,000 crore this year. The company wants to strengthen its hold in this segment. Currently, TVS occupies a top-10 position in this segment. It is behind companies like Okinawa, Hero Electric, Ola Electric, Ampere and Ather. TVS has not yet expanded its electric scooter business much. TVS iQube sold a record 4,667 units in June 2022. It was also his record monthly sale. TVS Motor MD Sudarshan Venu said that they will launch another new EV later this year.

Production target of 50 thousand units
With the new investment, TVS aims to increase production of the iCube electric scooter to 25,000 units per month by the end of this year. This will more than double the current production capacity figure. TVS aims to increase production capacity by 100% by 2023. Due to which it will become 50 thousand units per month. Through this, around 5-6 lakh units can be produced every year. TVS acquired SEMG earlier this year with a 75% stake in the company.

The cost of walking 30 km is Rs
TVS claims that its iQube electric scooter costs just Rs 3 per day to travel. Yes, you can travel all day for 3 rupees. However, TVS claims to drive 30Km at a cost of Rs. In such a scenario, a petrol scooter costs around Rs 1 lakh to cover 50,000 km. Whereas its iQube electric scooter costs Rs 6,466 for a 50,000 km trip. Also, there are GST savings. Service and maintenance costs are also saved. Thus the iQube saves Rs 93,500 over 50,000 km

>> TVS also claims that a single charge of the iQube costs Rs 18.75. Its iQube ST model gets fully charged in 4 hours and 6 minutes. After that it can be driven upto 145Km. That is, if you walk 30Km per day, then this electric scooter needs to be charged twice a week. Charging twice will cost Rs 37.50. That is, the average monthly cost is Rs. 150. That is, the daily cost will be 50 rupees. At the same time, its range will be 290Km on two charges. That is, you can comfortably walk an average of 30Km per day at this cost.

TVS iCube Price
The on-road price of its base variant in Delhi starts at Rs.98,654. Whereas the on-road price in Bengaluru starts at ₹ 1,11,663. The mid variant iQube S is priced at Rs 1,08,690 in Delhi and Rs 1,19,663 in Bengaluru. The iQube ST is priced at Rs 1,09,256 in Delhi At the same time, it costs Rs 1,20,183 in Bangalore. All prices are after FAME II subsidy. A subsidy of around Rs 51,000 is being given to consumers. These scooters are available in 33 cities. Soon to be launched in 52 new cities.
