The director of the Council of Ministers, Albertus Otárola, announced today that the proposal for the creation of the National Infrastructure Authority was approved in the Cabinet Ministerial session, which will be immediately sent to the Congress of the Republic. “Insist that the Country must approve the proposal, urgently presented to the Assembly of the Republic, for the creation of the National Infrastructure Authority,” he said.
It also decided that this authority would be a permanent entity at the national level, working under the direction of the corresponding ministries, as well as at the regional and local level, to complete the prior and emblematic tasks that the country requires.
In addition, he indicated that through the National Infrastructure Authority, works are carried out that are within the National Infrastructure Council, and are greater than 500 thousand feet, and which are classified as “high complexity”.
“And they should be joined to the announcement services, storm drainage, river protection, that is, that work that was not done by the Reconstruction Authority with Changes, which will be absorbed by the new authority, with substantial and radical modifications; ” he said.
Albertus Otárola stated that the proposal is a priority and called on Congress to prioritize a powerful National Infrastructure Authority and the implementation of works together with the priorities of the most needy populations.
On the other hand, he also approved an emergency edict declaring a state of emergency in some regions of Huánuco, and for the provinces of Ica, Nasca and Palpa, due to the rain.
