The North American Police searched the Cuban embassy after the attack with Molotov cocktails
The Cuban embassy in Washington was the target of an attack with two Molotov cocktails on Sunday night, as reported on Monday by the Foreign Minister of the regime, Bruno Rodríguez, who emphasized that no one was injured in the episode.
“Anti-Cuban groups turn to terrorism when they feel impunity, something that Cuba is constantly warned about by the US authorities,” said the foreign minister of the dictatorship on the social network X (previously Twitter ).
On the same platform, this Monday the Cuban ambassador to the United States, Lianys Torres Rivera, stated that after the “terrorist attack” the embassy “immediately communicated with the US authorities, who were given access to mission for capture.” Molotov cocktail samples.”
In a statement at noon on Monday, the Cuban regime described the attack as “a terrorist act” and warned the United States government against threats of this type against the Cuban diplomatic chief, “but also against other countries in the city. in Washington DC.”
Rodríguez added that this is the second violent attack against the diplomatic headquarters in Washington. A man with a rifle opened fire on the building in April 2020.

Joe Biden’s government, for its part, called the Molotov cocktail attack “unacceptable.” The spokesperson of the North American State Department, Matthew Miller, indicated this Monday in a press conference that they are in contact with Cuban officials at the Embassy because of their obligations under the Vienna Convention.
In this sense, he stated that Washington is “committed” to the security and protection of diplomatic institutions and their officials. Miller also assured that they are working with the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department to find out the details of what happened.
The Mexican government, close to the Castro dictatorship, was one of the first countries to react.

“We reiterate our commitment to fight against violence in all its forms” and “we urge a full investigation and bring those responsible to justice,” said the Mexican Foreign Ministry in a statement, adding that Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena expressed her solidarity with her counterpart Bruno Rodríguez.
The attack happened a few hours after the Cuban dictator, Miguel Díaz-Canel, returned to the island after attending several events last week at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) in New York.
Demonstrations by Cubans living in that country against Díaz-Canel’s presence at the UN Assembly were also recorded in the Big Apple.
Earlier this month, US and Cuban officials advanced on various issues during high-level talks in Washington.
Cuba and the United States reopened their diplomatic headquarters in 2015, after at the end of 2014 former presidents Barack Obama and Raúl Castro announced a historic relaunch of relations, which had been frozen for more than five decades. .
Many Cuban exiles and emigrants live in the United States, and relations have deteriorated again – without closing the diplomatic headquarters this time – during the government of former President Donald Trump. The current president, Joe Biden, has not changed many measures to tighten the sanctions made by his predecessor, such as the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries that promote terrorism.
At the moment, the main concern of Cuba is the country that remains on a US list of states that promote terrorism and the continuation of the economic embargo during the Cold War of the Biden administration.
