A meeting of doctors of the same specialty was held on the morning of this Thursday, July 28, in the multipurpose room of the Franklin Rawson Museum of Fine Arts.
Days of Residence, the service and the General and Family Medicine Association (MGyF) began jointly. The inaugural act, carried out this morning, was attended by Minister of Health, Alejandra Venerando, Planning Secretary and Vice President of the Sanjuanina Association of MGYF, Alina Almazán, Undersecretary of Preventive Medicine of the Health Portfolio, Matias Espejo. , Head of Sanitary Zone V, Ivana Garzon and Head of Service, Lidia Alonso, respectively.
At the opening ceremony, the head of the Family Medicine Service, Lidia Alonso, highlighted the return of Sessions, after a two-year suspension due to the pandemic. The doctor said that “we have to uncover this new meeting that will give us more wisdom and knowledge. That’s what we want and we do well.”
For his part, the minister highlighted the importance of family doctors in serving the population. “These days we all have a lot to do with the reunification that cultivates a similar love for the specialty. The training that a family therapist has is remarkable and should be valued. This meeting again traces the roots of family therapy. Finding, finding value, leitmotif, implies finding the purpose of this attribute”, he said.
Venerando reiterated the importance of the health team in this time as painful as the pandemic we are experiencing. Family doctors, in particular, demonstrated competence and were prepared for events, “like all healthcare workers who worked tirelessly for the benefit of the people of San Juan.”
Heads of health sectors and central level officials of the Ministry of Public Health participated in the inaugural act.
The conference will take place over two days, 28 and 29 July, where keynote speakers will tackle a variety of topics, referring to smoking, diabetes, adolescence, language disorders, strategic health planning, colon cancer, and more.
