During the rally, President Gabriel Boric went to the balcony of La Moneda to greet the people gathered and thank them for their support.

Afterwards, he left La Moneda and spoke a few words to the thousands of attendees of the event, in which he expressed saying that “there is not a single public peso in this.”

In this sense, he pointed out that this type of activity invites political reflection, especially those who affirm that the President of the Republic should only meet with big businessmen and the political environment.

«To many politicians it seems normal and natural that a president of the republic permanently goes to forums with big businessmen, however; Those people find it scandalous that a President of the Republic joins the people in a march; some dare say it violates the dignity of the office. The dignity of the position lies in interacting with people and with people,” he stressed.

Because of this, he indicated that as much as possible he will continue to hold meetings with people, as well as those who criticize him.

“We will not forget because we come from social organization, from marches, and what we advocate today is not resolved in the halls of professional politics,” he emphasized.

“This beautiful event, it’s not about me, it’s not about a person, the important thing is the ideas that we defend, the important thing is not to lose the horizon of what we want to change as a society ,” he added. .

In this regard, he emphasized the improvements in social policies achieved during his administration, such as the increase in the minimum wage, the reduction of the working day to 40 hours, as well as the free health care.
