Apple presented its new smart watches, the Apple Watch 9 series and the all-rounder Apple Ultra 2, which integrates the S9 processor that enables new functions such as double tap to control the device without touching it.
The Apple 9 series introduces a new gesture to control the watch: double tap, which does not require the user to actually touch the device, but only to simulate it with the index finger and ring finger of the hand where the watch is worn. , looks like making tweezers.
This is possible because of the new S9 processor integrated in it, with sensors such as an accelerometer and a gyroscope that can detect the movement of the fingers of the hand, as the company explained this Tuesday at the presentation event of the product.
The S9 processor also has neural motors that learn from the user’s experience and make dictation more accurate when interacting with Siri. It is, according to Apple, the most powerful processor in the Apple Watch, and consists of 5.6 billion transistors and its GPU is 30 percent more powerful than the previous model.
The new watch has a brighter Retina display, reaching a maximum peak brightness of 2,000 nits, although it adapts to low-light conditions, such as in a cinema, by lowering the brightness to a nit.
The company also announced Siri integration with health data, something that will initially come in English and Mandarin, with the intention of expanding it to more languages later. It also improves interaction with nearby objects and introduces homePod integration, thanks to WatchOS 10.
This operating system also makes the location of the iPhone more accurate, with a new ultra-wideband chip that tracks the mobile, warns the distance and direction and when it approaches the distance and direction , and when it approaches it offers tactile feedback.
APPLE WATCH ULTRA 2
Apple’s all-terrain watch has a bigger screen and longer battery life. When it was introduced last year, the company highlighted its capabilities for activities such as scuba diving and satellite messaging for emergencies.
The new generation, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, also has WATCHOS 10 and the S9 processor and ultra-wideband chip that enables double tap and the most accurate iPhone tracking.
The company uses a new screen architecture in this watch, which makes it very bright, up to 3,000 nits, so that it can be read outside in the sun.
It contains a new mirror, Modular Ultra, which offers real-time data such as height or depth. And the night mode is automatically activated at night to let you read the screen.
New advanced functions are included for runners and cyclists (speed and power), dual-frequency GPS and activity is displayed in real time on the iPhone.
The battery of this device lasts up to 36 hours on a single charge, although the energy saving mode can be extended up to 72 hours.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 also has integration with the on-device Siri assistant and an action button to customize quick actions.
Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will be available on September 22.
