The RQ-11 Raven is an unmanned aerial vehicle designed and manufactured by the United States company AeroVironment. Widely adopted by armed forces around the world, its compact design is ideal for low altitude surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance missions that require rapid deployment.
It is equipped with Mantis i23 gimbal camera with optical and infrared sensors. Its wingspan is 1.4 meters and weighs 1.9 kg. Powered by an electric motor, it has a flight autonomy of 60 to 90 minutes and a range of 10 km.
The Ecuadorian Navy and Ministry of Defense highlights the new incorporation, which “Will strengthen command, control and surveillance capabilities along the northern border” by country.
