The electric car fair is going to be held in Delhi again. Yes, EV Expo 2022 is going to be held here from August 5 to 7. The expo will be held at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Sports, Youth Affairs Anurag Thakur will inaugurate the expo. This is the 15th edition of EV Expo. The event will be held at hall number 11 of Pragati Maidan. The expo will showcase new technologies related to electric vehicles, components and services for electric vehicles, passenger and product convenience for the electric vehicle industry, and an eco-friendly environment.
Organized since 2015
EV Expo, organized by Altius Auto Solutions Pvt Ltd, is India’s largest comprehensive trade show on electric vehicles, accessories, batteries and charging solutions. It was held in New Delhi and Kolkata from December 2015 to 2017. It has since been organized in Bangalore, Lucknow and Hyderabad. This is the biggest event related to EV. Which is organized every year in the month of August.
Demand for EVs is increasing
Rajeev Arora, organizer of EV Expo 2022, said that compared to a few years ago, we are now witnessing an increasing adaptation and integration of electro-mobility into our lives around us. Electric vehicles have huge demand and potential in our country. There is a need to develop, encourage and support the entire system from vehicle manufacturers, batteries, components, accessories, finance, research and development, and services. Ivy Expo gives them all a platform to come together under one roof. Many launches can be seen here in these 3 days.
Initiatives to reduce dependence on crude oil
EV Expo 2022 is dedicated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. It is being organized in collaboration with Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT). Anuj Sharma, Chairman, Committee on Electric Vehicles, Government of India and Founder EV Expo said that due to the huge demand for hydrocarbon-based fuels – which are used in most vehicles in India. We are spending huge amount of foreign exchange on importing crude oil. Electric vehicles are urgently needed to reduce our dependence on crude oil.
