Twenty-two years ago, the Vanegas Núñez family from San Luis Río Colorado started their business making sports uniforms, especially baseball, without thinking that the quality of their work would sometimes lead them to work with the Mexican National Team.
The contract was awarded almost at the last minute and on the recommendation of third parties, with the machines and personnel moving to Phoenix, Arizona, where the Mexican representative saw the beginning of the action.
His work consisted of developing, arranging and using the equipment of all the players and coaches who participated in the World Baseball Classic, including the use of uniforms, where they also placed numbers and surnames.
“It was an experience that we will never forget,” said Rogelio Vanegas, founder of the company together with his wife Lina Núñez, who confirmed that, in addition to fulfilling their mission, they could meet the great sports stars who loved them. only angry like Meneses, Arozarena, Urias and even legends like Ken Griffey Jr. “It was like a reward. We didn’t expect it, but we did it, we enjoyed it. Thank God everything worked well and it does. We believe we are doing it right,” added Mrs. Lina.
The Mexican managers commented that they were so satisfied with their work that they opened up the possibility of continuing future competitions, going so far as to try to convince other teams such as the United States and Canada to work with them.
“Yes, the United States offered us what we wanted, but we couldn’t, to be Mexico,” Lina confirmed.
They said that they would like to contribute to the Mexican team that had a historic participation, finishing in third place in the World Cup.
“Everyone was very friendly, there was no pressure, there was a lot of trust, a lot of respect, and we worked hard, it was very … an environment that was also familiar to us,” they said.
Finally, they explain that this pleasant experience will be a motivation to grow in the family business, since in addition to the national market, they already export 100 percent of Mexican sports uniforms to states of the American Union such as Arizona, Alabama and New York. .
