The food module distribution has started again

The Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) announced on its official website the resumption of free distribution of the fourth food module for pregnant women, underweight children and people who registered with social assistance in Villa Clara.

The distribution of these modules has already begun in the thirteen towns of Villa Clara. This delivery is expected to help more than 36,600 residents of Villa Clara, providing assistance to those who need it.

The director of the Wholesale Food Company (EMPA) in the center of the country, Eduardo Morales, announced that each beneficiary will receive a selection of essential products, which include two kilos of legumes, 1 kilo of pasta, 1 kilo of sugar and two cans of sardines.

However, it should be noted that rice, an important component of these modules, has not yet arrived in the province and will be distributed at another time.

Morales emphasized the importance of these modules for local communities, especially pregnant women and underweight children, whose nutritional needs must be met. In addition, he reported that the sale of warehouses of four pounds of rice pending in the basic basket for September also continues, which will benefit many families in Villa Clara.

The lack of basic and necessary products, as well as the effects of inflation, make it very difficult for Cuban families to obtain products on the black market where a pound of pork can exceed $500.00 Cuban pesos ( CUP), a pound of rice $170.00 CUP and $320 CUP a pound of black beans, just to name a few.
