According to the data carried out in the first study by Metricool on TikTok, for You is the segment that provides the most traffic to the video on the Bytedance platform. An average of 75% of visualizations, compared to 2.81% of the traffic made by searching on social networks through tags. 8.49% draws from the follow section, while 3.66% comes from the personal profile.
Similarly, videos longer than 30 seconds are the most likely to go viral. According to the study, the videos that got the most views had an average duration of 41.8 seconds, with a difference of almost 10 seconds (32.2 seconds) compared to the less viral ones.
The ones that generate the most interactions and the most engagement are also seen as viral. Depending on the quality and value of the content, retention time increases.
Hence, in the opinion of the social media management platform, the two ideal factors for a video to go viral on TikTok are the duration of the content and the retention time that keeps the user playing. Thus, the longer the video lasts, keeping a good retention time, there are more possibilities for the user to interact and it progressively increases its space.
Conversely, accounts with a large number of followers tend to have longer videos (on average 40.5 seconds) than smaller accounts, which prefer shorter views (31.2 seconds). The more the system grows in followers, the one that is visited the most is the one with the longest duration.

The report also looks at the best days and times to post on TikTok. The best time to view packages is 8:00 am, every day of the week, except on Sundays, when the time is 6:00 am
Friday is the day which, on average, receives the highest number of visits. It is followed by Tuesday, as this is the day on which they receive the most comments on videos. Something key to increase the content and presence of video in social networks.
The study also shows that the greater the ratio, the greater the frequency of the images: two videos per day versus one video posted each day by smaller accounts. These aspects affect the statistics in the same way: the higher the frequency of publication, the mutual or the visualization increase the rates.
