The wait is over. The first matchday of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, Europe’s most important club competition, will take place this Tuesday and Wednesday.
For the fans it is a real spectacle, but for the clubs it is a big test because they will start the routine of playing games on Wednesdays and Sundays and with such a tight schedule the less ordinary players will have to step forward.
One of the big attractions for this season in Honduras is the fact that we will have the Honduran footballer Luis Palma in the competition, the Catracho will debut in the Scottish Celtic jersey.
AC Milan against Newcastle and Young Boys against Leipzig are the games that officially open the European Champions League.
Manchester City, the current Champions League champions, will face Red Star Belgrade this Tuesday, just as Barcelona play Royal Antwerp and Lazio play Atlético de Madrid.
In Celtic’s case, they will visit the Netherlands alongside Honduran Luis Palma and face Feyenoord.
