TIJUANA SEPTEMBER 12, 2023.- The Secretary General of the Government, Catalino Zavala Márquez attended on behalf of Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda to the closing ceremony of the 2019-2023 management of Miguel Ángel Mora Marrufo as president of State Human Rights Commission (CEDH) where he endorsed the State’s obligation to guarantee human rights.
Zavala Márquez thanked Governor Marina del Pilar for the relationship and joint work carried out by the State Government with Mora Marrufo and the entire CEDH team, adding that it is a government with a humanist ideology, in accordance with the values and policy of President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Likewise, the official indicated that the CEDH is an ally in the permanent task of guaranteeing and promoting respect for the human rights of all people, as well as a necessary tool for the community.
For his part, Miguel Ángel Mora Marrufo highlighted the achievements made since the establishment of the Commission, but also the challenges that still need to be met, highlighting gender violence, so it is necessary to work together to influence those public policy. to protect human rights.
Mora Marrufo took the opportunity to congratulate future president of the ECHR, Jorge Álvaro Ochoa Orduño who will take office next Monday, September 18 of the current year.
