This camp was called by the leadership of Section 30 of the SNTE. Américo Villarreal expressed the willingness of the Government to “respond to their requests and exploits, speaking to the union leader Arnulfo Rodríguez Treviño.
“Professor Arnulfo, know that there is no threat. We are left with a Government that harasses, intimidates, plays games and extorts people and we will not tolerate that,” the Governor said.


The president reiterated the respect and willingness to continue a permanent and open dialogue, while calling to return to the classrooms so that girls and boys in Tamaulipas can return to class.
“Know that in the Government we are always open to dialogue. To have a dialogue there must be two parties, for our part they will always extend their hands to seek improvement in the work on the basis of teaching, which is very important for our country and in our state. You heard me, without education there will be no change. Trust the Governor of the State, with his cabinet to solve the problems that afflict you,” added Américo Villarreal.


For his part, Arnulfo Rodríguez recognized the Governor for personally attending the sit-in and talking to the teachers. He even considered him his “friend.”
