The health centers in the province of Huelva have incorporated a total of 54 new relation nurses in childhood health since January to encourage the care of the pediatric population. Now the province of Huelva has 28 nurses who are in charge of this function, one for each health center, also from Huelva-Costa and Condado-Campiña dependent District and North Health Area.
Initially, the school nurse was needed to implement the official sanitization measures to prevent and help the movement of Covid-19 that could occur in the school environment. As a result of this promotional work in education centers, there was a significant increase in vaccination coverage last year. Specifically, vaccination against meningitis in 12- to 20-year-olds reached 81% coverage, while vaccination against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) in girls from 12 to 18 years old reached 90%. This year, vaccination against HPV has also begun in children who are 12 years old, starting with those born in 2011 and in the first two months of the war, 220 have already received the first dose, 8% of those who would receive it. vaccinated by 2023 in Huelva.
