A newly married couple had the worst honeymoon they could imagine after the man nearly died of heat stroke.
The incident happened in 2015 when the couple went on their honeymoon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States.
Rocky Brown shared with Business Insider the story of his journey with his wife at the time.
“We spent the first half of our trip doing everything she wanted, like going to the beach and shopping. “All he wanted was to charter a deep-sea fishing trip, so he booked one that advertised free food and drinks on board,” he explained.
A few hours before the excursion, the couple celebrated their wedding until dawn. “Dehydrated and exhausted we drove to the marina the next morning and boarded the charter,” Brown recalled.
Rocky explained that when they boarded the boat they met a family that participated in fishing. “We introduced ourselves and made friends, as always,” he said.
The man remembers that it was 40 degrees Celsius that day and all he wanted was a bottle of water and food. Unfortunately, he discovered that the lunch included in the boat they were on was a sandwich with soda, but no water.
The journey across the sea begins and the crew passes through strange places, including the homes of many famous people.
Fishing begins, Rocky catches a lot of fish and even helps some boatmen to reel in the rod to catch more animals.
“After catching five giant fish, I sat down to catch my breath,” he said.
Until then, everything was fine, but then the nightmare began. The man felt a tremor in his neck and then in his left hand. “They grabbed my hands and I couldn’t move them,” he recalled.
The captain of the boat called the Police and the United States Coast Guard.
Rocky’s wife and some crew members started bathing him with ice and cold water to cool his body, because he was suffering from heat stroke. He pointed out that at that time he had difficulty speaking because the Coast Guard and Police escorted the ship to the beach.
When they arrived at the medical center, they told him that he was dehydrated and had a heat stroke. Bathing in ice and cold water helped prevent serious damage to his organs and he was advised to spend a few hours in an air-conditioned ambulance.
“The whole time my wife was taking pictures and posting them on social media as if she had never been in an ambulance,” Rocky explained.
He believed that their honeymoon was a bad omen, so he decided to divorce his wife. He also said that he was saddened by the ruin of the family’s fishing trip that they met when they arrived on the boat.
