From October 2000 to September 2015, CSI: Las Vegas was a TV staple, and it’s not hard to see why. The fictional cases that the Las Vegas Police have covered are must see programming, and the main cast that came on board to play their part in the series to life.

George Eads, Gary Dourdan, Marg Helgenberger and a host of other illustrious names have added to the original series CSI franchise’s filmography over the years, and have continued for various seasons. However, despite boasting heaps of talent, the show often left the room with only one guest star. During its 15 seasons and a staggering 337 episodes, many people from all over the world have been entertained by the speed of “CSI”. For example, John Krasinski.

John Krasinski’s debut together and farewell on CSI Las Vegas comes in the eleventh episode of Season 5, titled “Who Shot Sherlock?” He played a character named Lyle Davis, who is questioned by investigators after the suspicious death of his 25-year-old roommate, Cory Demayo (Zac Henry).

We see 26-year-old John Krasinski with slightly long hair, talking with Warrick Brown (Dourdan) and detective Chris Cavaliere (José Zúniga) who inadvertently hints that he has something to do with Cory’s death. A CSI spot is nothing to scoff at, especially with an aspiring actor desperate to break into the mainstream.

When CSI: Las Vegas aired “Who Shot Sherlock” in January 2005, John Krasinski was still working to make a name for himself in Hollywood. To date, he has had a few notable credits to his name, with arguably the most notable coming from his time as Jace Gleesing in a 2004 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Fortunately, the Office arrived in March of the same year, finally giving him the opportunity to prove himself to the world. Clearly, his work as Jim Halpert impressed the right people, which is why he directed projects like A Quiet Place, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and, in 2022, DC League of Superpets, where he played Superman.
