The Magic of Christmas Comes to New Jersey Too: Here Are Some Activities You Can’t Miss

NEW JERSEY – The New York area kicked off the Christmas season on Wednesday with the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony, one of the most anticipated moments for lovers of the season.

However, Christmas is not only celebrated magically in the capital of the world, there are also many events and places for people on the other side of the Hudson River to live out the spirit of the season.

For that reason, we want to share with you some experiences in New Jersey where the lights, Christmas music, and magic of the holidays will make you fall in love.

1. Drumthwake Holidays

Governor Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy invite the public to join their call Drumthwake Holidays, a long tradition of open days at the Governor’s residence. Tours and parking are free, but reservations are required.

The Drumthawket Foundation, in partnership with six Garden Clubs of New Jersey, decorated each room on the public first floor of the residence, using fresh arrangements and greenery to complement the architecture and decor of the historic property.

Tours will be self-guided with various documents throughout the residence to answer questions and provide historical information about the property.

3. Bergen County Zoo

The event is being organized at the zoo Let It Glow: A Fabulous Festive Lantern, It’s a symphony of bright, vivid colors to tease your eyes and dazzle your mind. The giant lantern features over 30 handcraft scenes.

4. festival of trees Festival of Trees at the Morven Museum

Morven’s annual winter display has become a must-see Christmas tradition. Visitors enjoy the museum’s elegant galleries, mantels and porches artfully decorated for the holidays by local businesses, garden clubs and non-profit organizations. The installation is open to the public during regular museum hours, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

South Jersey Holiday Light Show o Southern New Jersey Christmas Light Show

South Jersey Holiday Light Show is returning for its third season, bigger and better than ever! With hundreds of bright and large Christmas themed displays to please the whole family. Guests can bundle up in their car, pack their favorite snack or drink and tune in their radios to a synchronized light display as they travel the 1+ mile route through the South Jersey Holiday Light Show Huh.

5. Bergen County Winter Wonderland / Bergen County Winter Wonderland

A general admission ticket provides access to the Winter Wonderland site for the day and includes 1 carousel ride. All Access Tickets include admission to the site for the day, 1 carousel ride and one ice skating session during the time you choose.

6. Winter Wonderlights Drive-Thru

It’s an unforgettable experience at the Middlesex County Fairgrounds. The Winter Wonderlights Drive Thru features over 1.5 million animated lights set to some of your favorite holiday songs. They have a 20 foot Christmas tree, 3 magical tunnels, tributes to first responders and the US military, and other awesome and big holiday themed displays. This experience ends on January 1, 2023.

7. Turtle Zoo – Holiday Lights Spectacular

Visitors will find more than 50 animals and winter characters at the Essex County Tortoise Zoo.

In addition to other events, such as a visit from Santa Claus.

8. The Magic of Light at the PNC Bank Arts Center
