The Morelos Prosecutor’s Office has protested the “disparate” and “detached from the rules” investigations conducted by the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office against officials accused of distorting the investigation into the femicide of young Ariadna Fernanda.
In a statement, the institution of Morelos confirmed that the two instances have the same level, although in this case there was an action of “shooting” between the instances.
The position released this Sunday expresses a “categorical disagreement” with the operation carried out on Friday at the facilities of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation and Prosecution of the Crime of Femicide, in which investigative elements from the CDMX participated, in coordination with the Secretary. of the Navy and the State Public Safety Commission.
In these events, the public prosecutor, Joel “N”, who led the investigation of Ariadna Fernanda’s case, was arrested.
Due to these same events, the Mexico City prosecutor’s office has already filed three cases against the Morelos prosecutor, Uriel Carmona, who is imprisoned in the maximum security prison.
Regarding Friday’s operation, the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office said:
The warrant of arrest executed against a public servant of the Femicide Prosecutor’s Office that is not given the participation that is constitutionally and legally equivalent to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Morelos, is a disparity between equal institutions.
The Morelos Prosecutor’s Office emphasizes that, if any member of this institution is required by any competent authority, there will be openness and corresponding collaboration within the legal framework.
Likewise, the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office accused that the actions of its counterpart CDMX in that state do not respect the “prevailing norms” and requested that the “sovereignty of the federative entities” is not violated.
The Institution of the Public Ministry of Morelos expressed its disapproval of the actions taken by the authorities of Mexico City in the territory of Morelos, which is isolated from the usual norms.
The work of the institution must always be carried out within the framework of the constitution, with full respect for the institutions and their autonomy, in parity and coordination, but above all without superseding the sovereignty of those federated entity.
