Alfa Romeo has created a tailor-made vehicle that will turn heads and make the hearts of most Alfa fans beat faster. It is a limited series of only 33 examples, all of which have already been sold. This reinterpretation of a ’60s icon, considered one of the most beautiful cars of all time, is road legal and offers comfort and ease of use perfect for everyday use. But it also offers exceptional performance on the racetrack. They also have an unprecedented level of customization. For example, owners could personally “sign” the chassis number.
In detail, the front presents a powerful and muscular volume that highlights the iconic shield and the complex shapes of the headlights with an elliptical base. The profile is dynamic and slim, with doors that open in “Elytra” and two large side air intakes. The body protrudes forward, and the surfaces are modeled on the typical criteria of Alfa Romeo’s formal expression. In addition, thanks to the slanted opening of the doors and the large wrap-around sunroof, the driver enjoys a unique view that is very similar to that of an aircraft cabin. The overall image created by opening the hood and doors enhances the theatrical appearance of the vehicle.
The “brutal” rear is in balance with the curved front, and the maximum height is not at the level of the windshield, like in every other sports car, but in the middle of the roof. The rear area in particular expresses the strength of the vehicle with the shortened tail, a V-shaped graphic, and the round rear headlights. Aerodynamic efficiency is confirmed by a Cx of 0.375 at zero Cz (downlift) for precise selection without the help of active systems.
The interiors are also characterized by minimalist design and materials, all of which are designed to be as integrated into the driving experience as possible. In particular, the cabin has been designed to minimize components that could distract the driver. This is reflected, for example, in the limited number of controls that can be used while driving and are located on the center console. Directly in front of the driver is a screen whose three-dimensional “telescopic” design engages the driver in unprecedented interaction.
The steering wheel, which dispenses with all the usual buttons, offers the experience of pure driving pleasure. As in the cabin of an aircraft, the controls are located at different levels: in the lower part of the center console and on an upper level installed in the center panel of the roof interior. The interior is available in two trim levels: “Tributo” and “Alfa Corse”.
The aviation-inspired dashboard and center tunnel are made from materials such as aluminum, carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara. The enveloping seats reinterpret those of their predecessor, guaranteeing comfort and ergonomics. Every detail is designed to create an exclusive and attractive environment while preserving the aesthetic and technical heritage of the 1967 Stradale.
The Alfa Romeo team has set itself the ambitious goal of offering a driving experience similar to that of a car on the track, but in a model suitable for daily use on the road, without sacrificing comfort and safety, even during the day. That’s why the new 33 Stradale features the best of Alfa Romeo engineering, as evidenced by the double wishbone suspension with active dampers and the further development of the 2.9 V6 engine.
The new Alfa Romeo special edition can have a V6 biturbo engine with more than 620 hp or a BEV configuration with three electric motors with more than 750 hp. The features are exceptional in both versions. The top speed is 333 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than three seconds. The double wishbone suspension with active shock absorbers and the fold-up front axle guarantee maneuverability and comfort. The Alfa Romeo Brake-by-Wire braking system and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes offer performance at the highest level.
The aluminum H-frame and carbon fiber monocoque guarantee rigidity and lightness. To ensure high rigidity and safety, a carbon fiber and aluminum roof structure was designed with doors like butterfly wings. The window frames are also made of carbon fiber, and the rear window is made of polycarbonate.
