“Motorists will see a real hotel car and perhaps an oddly scaled accessory at the time that escaped from a theme park or movie,” artist Morton describes the concept of this event.

Almost two decades on, the creation still plays on the minds of people passing by on the motorway, also called EastLink, in the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong.
At first, the big rectangular building with the big red “HOTEL” sign on top looks normal enough, but then it’s not as imposing as it’s supposed to be and it’s located in the middle of a barren field, and that’s when things start. get confusing
But that is by design.
“I think it’s interesting how to put something in a space that’s a little bland or a little weird, how maybe it changes how people think about art or practice,” Callum Morton said of his unique art.
