On December 10, the fourth edition of the Living Artisan Nativity Scene in the La Florida neighborhood opened its doors, bringing Christmas to life in Las Torres de Cotillas. The opening ceremony is counted among other authorities – with the presence of Toreno Mayor, Francisco Jesús López Manzanera; director of the Institute for the Marginalization of the Murcian Media in propaganda campaigns for the Murcia region; First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Barrios and Districts, Marion Fernández Fernández, and Mayor of La Florida-Pedania, Encarnación Ruiz Fernández. In addition, the Rondalla de Corros de Lorci gives a Christmas musical touch.
Free admission and opening hours in the morning (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and afternoon (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) on four days (December 10, 11, 17 and 18) With, Another Year Neighbor has handcrafted all the elements (clothes, decorations, etc.) of this nativity scene. “The work done by the residents of La Florida is commendable. There is a lot of effort behind this show and these days there are about 100 extras who benevolently participate in this representation, which keeps our tradition alive in a wonderful way” , says Lopez Manzanera
30 scenes
A total of 30 scenes are presented this year in this Christmas scene in La Florida Park: 10 Bibles, two periods (stable and house) and 18 occupations (blacksmith, carpenter, cowgirl, potter, butcher, seamstress…), where this Year fish market and grape harvest area are released. This version brings as novelties a waterfall, a wooden bridge in its river and the presentation of Jesus, and a new fountain.

even a christmas market
In parallel with this performance and at the same hour, a Christmas market is held. 4 bars from the municipality take part in it, offering a tapa plus drink for 3.5 euros, 6 artisan stalls and 14 shops, showing among others- their clothes, food, decorations, flowers, automotive products. .. There is also a free area for the little ones, with inflatables and children’s games.
There is free transport to reach these two tempting offers: a Christmas tourist train, specially scheduled for the occasion and designed for the little ones. With morning and afternoon hours, it offers two stops: the square of the old town hall and La Florida Park.
