The Council of Ministers approved the relaxing the conditions under which some workers may opt for early retirement, a measure that seeks to make it easier for people with certain disabilities to stop working. If this change is registered with the BOE it will be fully implemented and that is when the employees with any of the following characteristics may request early withdrawal with pension rights:

Intellectual disability

Cerebral palsy

Genetic abnormalities (down syndrome, Prader Willi syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, Osteogenesis imperfecta, Achondroplasia, Cystic Fibrosis, Wilson’s disease)

Autism spectrum disorder

Secondary congenital anomalies or Thalidomide

Sequelae of polio or post-polio syndrome

Acquired brain damage (head trauma, consequences of CNS tumors, infection or poisoning)

Mental illness (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)

Neurological diseases (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, leukodystrophies, Tourette syndrome, traumatic spinal cord injury)
Testifying persons a disability equal to or greater than 45%, the percentages of two different pathologies can be added to meet or exceed that 45% threshold. The Government’s flexibility also reduces the minimum contribution time that these people must follow to retire early, which has been passed. from 15 years to only 5 years.
With these exceptions, the Government is seeking lower life expectancy will be compensated of those who suffer from a disability.
