Microsoft confirmed at a special event that it will release its next major Windows 11 update, its version 22H2, on September 26th. An update that, as we already expected, will include a new assistant called Copilot, which will be based on artificial intelligence, a technology that will soon be an important part of all operating system tools.
In this presentation and later in an entry on its official blog (via The Verge), the company behind Windows has indicated that Copilot will be the main feature of the Windows 11 22H2 update, bringing the same functionality as Bing Chat, but directly to the desktop of Windows 11. Assistant that appears as a sidebar and allows us to control the settings of our PC, open applications or simply answer questions. For example, Microsoft executives demonstrated how using Copilot can help them write text messages using data from your calendar, navigation options in Outlook, and more.
Other officially confirmed implementations include the new File Explorer, which will also have a more modern look. The updated File Explorer interface will now include a modern home interface with large file thumbnails and a carousel interface that can display recent files and favorites. Changes make this important tool better integrated into the overall design of Windows 11.
As expected in another post, the Snipping Tool also gets a new feature confirmed at this special event that allows you to copy text from images or screenshots and share them in other applications. Additionally, the Photos app in Windows 11 has a new background blur option with this update. Background Blur automatically finds the background in a photo and highlights the subject while blurring the rest. In addition, the intensity of the blur can be adjusted or even the blurred areas can be changed.
