If you are a true believer in the lottery or perhaps want to try a lucky break, the Powerball lottery game is still looking for the winner of a juicy number that has already reached $638 million.
This is the jackpot prize they will be drawing this Monday, September 18th starting at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
And after 25 consecutive drawings since July 19 last year, Powerball continues to increase the prize without an owner. During that time, nearly 16 million players won smaller prizes, however 25 tickets won $1 million and eight tickets won $2 million.
According to lottery winning experts, there is a 1 in 24.9 chance of winning a prize and a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning the jackpot.
The last Powerball jackpot was $1.08 billion
Before the rollover began, a ticket purchased in California gave the winner a $1.08 billion prize, the seventh-largest prize in Powerball history.
The highest jackpot in history was achieved on November 8, 2022, amounting to $2.4 billion, also with a ticket purchased in California.
If a winner is announced this Monday, the person will have the opportunity to redeem $304.2 million in cash. There is also the option to receive annual payments for years.
Payments do not include federal or court taxes and must be redeemed at the same lottery location where the ticket was purchased.
