Profits: What does the decree authorize the change in this tax?
The government has officially announced the change in personal income tax so that from October it will be paid by people with salaries of more than 1.7 million, and has clarified how the second installment of the bonus will be settled.
Through Decree 473/2023, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette, the Executive made it clear that the decision will come into force tomorrow and will be applicable to remuneration and/or salaries accruing from October 1, 2023.
As the Minister of Economic Affairs announced, Sergio Massa Starting the first day of next month, the new income tax floor will increase to $1,770,000 per month.
“For the second half of the 2023 tax period, it is determined that the amount of remuneration and/or gross assets within the meaning of the provisions of Article 26 subsection z) of the Income Tax Law is a monthly amount equivalent – corresponding to the amount in force on October 1, 2023 – to 15 minimum -, basic and mobile salaries,” says the official text.
Regarding the second episode of the aguinaldo to be paid in December, the decree provides that the amount resulting from these 15 minimum salaries and the average of the second calendar half of the salary or gross earnings must be taken into account.
On the other hand, it was entrusted to that AFIP to increase the amounts of the progressive tax rate, with effect for the period from the entry into force of this Decree until the amounts received on December 31, 2023.
