Andreu Verdu, candidate for mayor of La Villa Joyosa in the next local elections, has announced new projects to continue to improve the La Cala neighborhood and its quality of life. Among the main projects, Verdu pointed to the construction of a multipurpose building, a new space for coexistence and neighborhood meeting that could house municipal services and host cultural, social or neighborhood events. In addition, there are plans to build a specialized center for people with mental illness in this neighborhood with the support of municipal funds and the Generalitat.
“La Cala has received a series of investments that have made it possible to make improvements to La Cala, such as the generation of promenades or new parking spaces”, and in the next assembly “we have a big plan to continue this improvement project”. The investment package is” the quality of living conditions and the benefits that the residents of La Cala can receive”, explained the current mayor and PSVP-PSOE candidate.

This package of measures includes strengthening the industrial area of La Cala and PP-33, encouraging the establishment and setting up of new companies in this industrial area. With regard to social settlement, the socialists are committed to finish the already designed project of healthy green space on Terel Street. The project includes the construction of new sports facilities in the area, the completion of existing ones and the improvement of the leisure infrastructure of the neighbourhood.
The Socialist candidate believes that “improvements to medical office facilities already initiated in this past legislature are necessary, but also require an increase in the quality of some benefits for patients, family members and health workers. “
With regard to the electoral program, the Socialist candidate has indicated that the proposals for the next four years include revitalization programs which include activities of the Moorish and Christian festivities in the La Cala area, which bring the festivities closer to the neighborhood and which serve as a works in tourist attractions.
