The platform for the defense of public health has accused the government of La Rioja of its use “Excuse the waiting lists for contracts with private healthcare providers.” In a press release, he considered whether to hire private healthcare. “It will be the first action taken by the head of the Rioja Health Service, Jesús Álvarez, on behalf of the government. It is better that he resigns from office.”
He pointed out that ““attacks the legitimate right of patients to be treated in a public hospital that meets all health guarantees.” “If this measure of dubious legality is carried out, the manager and the government itself will be drawn into the web of speculation and serve as an example of how public resources are wasted in favor of private healthcare companies.” he claimed.
He added that “Before accepting the referral to the private company, patients must ensure that the conditions in which we operate are at least those of the public hospital of San Pedro.”
He specifically referred to this “for security in case of complications that the San Pedro Hospital offers by having an intensive care unit that offers guarantees that no other hospital in La Rioja offers.”
He added that “We should also ensure the quality and suitability of the prostheses to be implanted in private healthcare, provided that they have the same characteristics and the same guarantees as those used in the San Pedro Hospital.”
Regarding the waiting lists, he indicated that he never believed in the data presented “the continued refusal of all governments to introduce an independent verification system under parliamentary control.”
He has claimed that the SERIS manager must explain this to the Parliamentary Health Commission “What efforts and measures have been taken to reduce waiting lists in the public sector?” At the same time, she insisted on her proposal for an independent review to find out its reality.
