Real Sociedad returned to winning ways after defeating UPN 2-0 to resume the 2023 Apertura Tournament of the Honduran National League.
The locals arrive after going unbeaten the previous date against Olimpia, but this did not dampen their spirits. Those led by Colombian John Jairo López became the protagonists of the Apertura 2023 because they have 17 points and are in third position.
The opponent of UPN Wolves, Héctor Castellón’s team had a terrible championship and as a result they are last in the standings with 8 units. Los Lobos have gone 9 games without losing to Real Sociedad in the history of the National League, but the streak has ended.
Those from Tocoa led the scoreboard just three minutes into the first half thanks to a penalty scored by Eder Delgado after a clear handball by defender Kenneth Hernández.
The second goal shout could have come from the penalty spot in the 34th minute, but Edder Delgado crashed it into the upright which was defended by Torres.
UPNFM almost tied the score after a shot by Erick Andino that crashed horizontally, but referee Armando Castro signaled offside.
The last goal for the locals came at the end of the game, after a ball left in place by Rony Martínez and with a powerful right foot he scored 2-0 for Real Sociedad.
