The National Police is investigating the alleged members of the DDP gang from the Latin region, who in recent weeks have assaulted and robbed minors outside the Paseo Salesianos school, because he did not want to join the gang. They are trying to recruit gang members from these schools who are between 13 and 15 years old. If they refuse, they beat them by threatening: “We have your face, or you join the band, or we are going to have you,” according to a post published on Instagram for several authors.
One of the boys who is attacked needs protection at school and leaves the school. The police guard the door of the center and surround it to prevent further altercations. There are also field officers in the area to try to track down the attackers. Police sources explained that at least one of the alleged attackers was expelled from the school after he was identified as a member of one of these groups.
Some are related to several member bands. They were saved by managers before the accounts were deleted from Instagram. From the Head of the Vigilance Headquarters of Madrid they admit that there were two minor attacks from the Salesian school in the Paseo de Extremadura in the Latin region. However, a police spokesman yesterday pointed out that the manner in which they tried to capture these minors was not the usual type of gang members to carry out this type of work.
Although the authorities officially admit two complaints of assaults and robberies on social networks, several smaller attacks from other schools were reported by members of the DDP who are regulars in the Caramuel park where they allegedly deal in drugs.
It was the mother of one of these children, the victim of this group, who raised alarm last week by posting on social networks what had happened to her son. The purpose of the mother’s message was to encourage the parents of the neighborhood to protect their children: “I would like to inform you that something more serious that is happening in our neighborhoods in the streets and in the open light is the beatings and robberies of children leaving school. to go home. They go in groups and attack the vulnerable. There are those who see and don’t call the police. Yesterday was my son and tomorrow it could be yours. Please spread the word, help and make a lot of noise about this.
Police investigations revealed that in early to mid-February gang members were already targeting children in order to recruit them into their gangs. On their hunts, they went to famous fast food restaurants to attract boys. “My son and his friends were surrounded by the Latin group DDP (Dominicans Don’t Play),” says his mother. “They all rejected the proposal and before they could refuse it, one of the band members started to report on his cell phone: ‘You don’t want to join the band because we have pictures of you.'” It was Wednesday last week when two attacks took place on minors who were students at the Salesian school. Three of these were pursued and overcome. One of them grabbed his mobile phone.
Later, the same group of gang members attacked another student. And he struck him from behind, and he fell to the ground, and they began to kick him. At that moment, my son could see how one of the attackers was carrying the attack with his cell phone”, the mother told this newspaper. The victim was able to escape at a run and seeing the man entering the gate immediately asked for help. The neighbor should pass and defend him, while the police and his parents are notified .
The 14-year-old boy who was attacked was later transferred to the Caramuel Village Health Center for treatment of his injuries. He had a bruise in one eye, and bruises in one knee.
One of the smaller attackers provided the authorities with social networks where the suspects were posting about the apparent attacks. Some accounts still have pictures in which they pose with the DDP gang.
This newspaper tried unsuccessfully to contact the Salesians at the Paseo game to find out their version of what happened. From the Ministry of Education on Monday night it was indicated that “the file has been opened by the school and the Educational Inspection of the Community of Madrid will be requested about the events that occurred”.
