The Secretary of Culture Invites the Mexican Night with the Baja California Orchestra

The event, free, is for the whole family and is aimed at an audience of over 10 years.

MEXICALI.- The Secretary of Culture, through the Baja California Institute of Culture, presents the long-awaited concert “Noche Mexicana”, a musical celebration of Mexican Independence that will fill our hearts with pride and color.

“Music is a universal language that unites people across generations and borders. On this occasion, we want to celebrate our rich musical tradition in Mexico with a concert that makes us feel part of this beautiful Mexican that defines us Music “This is a heritage that we share and that unites us as a nation,” highlighted Alma Delia Brego Ceballos, Secretary of Culture.

This event will feature the participation of the Baja California Orchestra, under the artistic and musical direction of maestro Armando Pesqueira. In addition, the Selection Choir and students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Contemporary Popular Music from the Musical Arts Center will join the stage.

The repertoire will include traditional and famous Mexican musicals that are an integral part of our identity, such as “Sinfona India,” “Sobre las Olas,” and the iconic “Pelea de Gallos,” among others.

The Baja California Orchestra is known for its musical versatility that ranges from baroque to contemporary music, from chamber music to symphonic and operatic works. The OBC is a prestigious music institution recognized nationally and internationally, touring the stages of Mexico and the United States, including emblematic places such as Lincoln Center in New York and the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico.
