The Sims 4 Generation Update teaser sends fanbase to collapse

We know there’s more than enough to play with when it comes to EA’s life simulation game The Sims 4, but the developers aren’t done yet. EA is rolling out another big update to the title, including an expansion pack and two related kits, and they’re all on the same page when it comes to when we think it might happen: Generations. That’s right, we may be weeks away from the long-awaited Sims 4 Generation Update.

framing the ad around “Michaelson meeting“And the phrase “everything is relative”, EA has confirmed that information about The Sims 4’s upcoming update will be shared during a community stream on January 31st. However this information gives us little to go on , but the community is convinced that this update will be similar to The Sims 3 Generation Update, and there is actually some evidence to support this theory.

If you’re wondering what this update is and why people are so excited about it, here’s a quick overview of what’s included.

The Sims 3, the fourth major expansion for Generations, strengthens the content available in the game for Sims of all ages, not just adult Sims. It introduced specific themed content and features for each stage of a Sim’s life, with teen Sims able to rebel and party with each other, older Sims able to reminisce about their youth, and adult Sims able to reminisce about their youth. Sims were now able to interact with their children with more choice. than ever before.

For players looking to play multiple lives with the same family sim, this is exactly the update they’ve been waiting for. EA also introduced new traits, the ability to enroll Sims your child’s age in after-school activities, and more customization options for the Create-a-Sim feature.

It’s easy to see why Sims 4 players would be hoping for a similar update, though there’s already a lot to look forward to and do in the most recent release in the series. Why do people think the Generation Update is coming in the first place though? Well, you only need to look at the ad to see why.

Throughout the ad, cartoon-like images of a baby’s diapers, underwear appear along with a small toothbrush/toothpaste set and a tooth. Players are sure that all this suggests that the update will introduce new features for child and teen sims. Interestingly, all of these images appear in picture frames hanging from a tree, which many take to represent a “family tree”, suggesting a generational-like update.

With all these images of a lighthouse and what looks like Pennsylvania’s iconic Boston Bridge, it looks like a new neighborhood called San Sequoia is on the way as well. Oh, and there’s also a Boston-based family-focused sitcom called “Everything Is Relative.” Hence the use of this phrase in the teaser ad cannot be a coincidence.

It’s important to note that this is all speculation, and we also don’t think it has anything to do with The Sims 5 Project Rene’s release date. However, some of the best PS5 games and best Xbox Series X games are worth a look while we wait for community streams and more information later in the month.
