CAMDEN, NJ—The Philadelphia 76ers will add another piece to their roster on Monday when they return home to host the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 of their Round 1 series as they welcome Mattis Thiebull back to the lineup.
Thyboul was unable to play in Games 3 and 4 due to his vaccination status as he was not able to enter the country of Canada. Instead of taking his place, the Sixers shortened their rotation from nine to eight in both games, and Danny Green played 46 minutes in Game 3.

Philadelphia could have gone to Furqan Korkamaz or Isaiah Joe without Thiebull, but it didn’t. Now, they can go back home to nine players.
“I could have gone with the nine with the difference, and I still think he could have had an impact in this series or carried on, hopefully, but we were comfortable with what we were doing,” Coach Dr. River said. “We stick with that. Including Mattis will give us another player.
The Sixers were able to keep Thiboul involved while they were away. They asked him to work and they sent him some film to help him keep his head when the team left.
“We used to have him workout at the gym every day,” Rivers explained. “We asked him to watch the film with someone here. So the communication is still there. ,
Thayboul is one of the league’s elite defenders and he thus makes a huge impact for Philadelphia. The Sixers will certainly welcome them back as they look to eliminate the pesky Raptors on Monday.
