The terrible end of a man’s death, the most beautiful mummy in the world

He seems to be sleeping and in fact has been going through his dream for 2,300 years. He is a man from Tollund, perhaps the most beautiful mummy known.

That man was born three hundred years ago, Jesus Christ, and died when he was about 40 years old. And it has a story behind it that could be repaired in spite of time.

This is what happened when it was discovered in the 1950s.

In the 1950s, in Silkeborg, a small town in Denmark, a student disappeared and the community set up their own search.

On the 8th day of May of that year, the body of a man was found in the swamps of the village. But when they came to the courts, they preserved the incredible fact that it was not the missing child but the mummy.

The first photograph of his face was taken in 1950.

The body was brought to the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen. As it was discovered. Placed in the fetus, almost naked, barely covered with skin. But there were three more: a belt, a beautiful cap on his head, and a noose tied around his neck.

The grammarians could not believe that the body had been preserved so long in such perfect preservation.

at the last meal

The feet and hands are in incredible condition, so much so that the fingers are taken. His entrails were so well taken care of that they could even see the last food: barley seed soup.

Analysis showed that the soup consisted of 85 percent of barley (335 P.), forty-nine percent of the weed of pale willow (29. P.), and five percent of flax (16 P. denarius).

The swamp where it was found.

The remaining one percent consisted of plants from 20 different species.

Furthermore, from protein analyses, the researchers concluded that the Tollund man also ate fish either in or alongside the soup.

That’s how it was discovered. They cut the very rope around his neck.

The preservation was due to the place where he was buried: the marshes of the hat. Among them there is a type of moss called Sphagnum, which produces an acid that does not tolerate bacteria, even under water.

That caused the sour man from Tollund to mummify himself perfectly and gently, with wrinkles, closed eyelids, a beard, and a beautiful hat.

How did he die?

And the present world Tollund lost man. His body was found in the blind mud in much better condition. It was the body of a man who had been dead for days. But when it was removed from the acidic environment where it was, it began to degrade.

One of his hands. Even his fingers.

wherefore they had to divide the head and take care that it should not perish like the body.

The size of the head has been reduced by 12% and if anyone goes to see it in the Silkeborg museum, they should know that it is a body portrait. Only the head is true.

His dream is already 2300 years old.

And at the end of that sad answer of his head. The noose worn around Tollund’s neck indicates that the man was executed for his crime and then buried peacefully in his skin, covered with mud and turf.

The peace lasted for 200 years. Until he was the inventor. And the eternal dream ended.
