As We announced last December; ams OSRAM had reached an agreement with the German company ARRI AG for the sale of its Clay Paky entertainment lighting business. Now fully operational, it has been integrated into the ARRI group, retaining its brand, current shape and structure and location.
Clay Paky, founded in 1969 and acquired by OSRAM in 2014, is headquartered in Seriate, Italy and is recognized as a global brand at the top of the professional display lighting market. Over the past few years, the company has strengthened its technological leadership through the application of its portfolio of LED and laser-based technologies, a broad portfolio of innovative products, used by artists, global events and theaters around the world.
On its part, ARRI AG, based in Munich, is one of the leading designers and manufacturers of camera and lighting systems as well as system solutions for the film, broadcast and media industries, and has a worldwide distribution and service network.
It would become part of the acquisition ARRI war to strengthen its position and become the leading provider of lighting systems in the cinema and entertainment market. For ams OSRAM, this sale It would be part of the strategy behind the acquisition of OSRAM by ams, with the aim of focusing on the core technology areas of light, display and detection and divesting from businesses that are not central to the company’s strategy.
Dr. Matthias Erb, Chairman of ARRI’s Executive Board, stated: We have a long-term vision for ARRI and Claypaky. Our goal in the future is to protect ARRI’s heritage and to expand and supply products and technologies to our core market. We intend to achieve synergies in new products through the merger of the two companies’ technologies. As an additional objective, we want to strengthen our business in other markets, especially hospitality”.
