As time goes on, more and more details about Daniel Sancho’s private life become known. It should be recalled that the Spaniard is imprisoned in a Thai prison for the murder and dismemberment of Colombian doctor Edwin Arrieta.
According to Spanish media, the son of popular actor Rodolfo Sancho was not a big fan of appearing with his father at public events; On the contrary, it is said that he always wanted to be out of the press spotlight, but it was only on August 5 that everything in his life changed. That day he committed the macabre crime.
With each passing day, more details become known about his days in prison and his life before the fatal decision.
The European television show’s investigation team spoke to several of Daniel’s closest friends and they all came to the same conclusion: Daniel was not the renowned chef or restaurant owner he often claimed.
As has become known in the last few hours, nightclubs hire him to entertain parties or simply to produce promotional videos. This explains the good relationships he had with important people in Spain, such as the king’s nephew, whom he asked to intercede in order to avoid the death penalty in Thailand.
It is worth mentioning that Sancho Felipe asked for help from Juan Froilán de Marichalar, nephew of King Felipe IV, after committing the crime in Thailand.
In this way, venues such as nightclubs and restaurants wanted to have it on their tables as it generated revenue through its image. “He is a person who moved well in Madrid and this attraction was good for us,” said the owner of a bar who knew Daniel.
With this revelation, a new mystery arises: what did Edwin Sancho send all that money for? Well, a friend of the late surgeon said Arrieta donated him 50,000 euros and another 100,000 euros, apparently to help him open his own restaurant.
Problems with your legal defense
In the case of Sancho, there is a new crossroads. The problem now is that the Thai state does not allow him to defend himself together with his lawyer Marcos García-Montes, who arrived from Spain with Rodolfo Sancho.
It turns out that, according to the immigration authorities of the Asian country, García-Montes entered its territory on a tourist permit and not to carry out his professional activity.
“It was a serious mistake. García-Montes did not have a work visa and authorization is required to carry out work outside the country of origin. A permission that he did not have, as he had neither had contact with a Thai lawyer nor had he signed anything with any office or company in the Asian country (…) With these facts, the Thai authorities felt deceived. “He confused kindness and peace with naivety,” Spanish media said.
A local lawyer no longer defends him
It should be recalled that at the end of last week it was announced that Thai lawyer Khun Anan would no longer be involved in the case.
Initially it was said that the lawyer had been fired, but it was later confirmed that Rodolfo Sancho had made the decision to terminate his services and hire the renowned lawyer García-Montes.
