The Royal Mint, the official company that produces British coins, launched on Wednesday a range of pieces for collectors and investors with the image of the famous spy James Bond, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the hero of the film.
This new series “offers 007 fans the opportunity to collect limited edition coins or invest in precious metals (gold or silver),” the Royal Mint said in a statement, presenting the first of seven pieces on Wednesday.
Each of the coins will represent an iconic scene from a secret agent film corresponding to a decade.
The first piece, from the 1960s, shows James Bond, played by Scottish actor Sean Connery, sitting in Little Nellie, the autogyro seen in the 1967 film “You Only Live Twice.”
The “007” logo, along with the gun barrel, appears on the bottom of the coin.

The remaining series of coins will be unveiled later this year and early next year.
Each piece in the series costs from 14.50 pounds (18 dollars), for the cupronickel version (an alloy based on copper and nickel), to 5,305 pounds (6,560 dollars), the most expensive, which made of more than 62 grams of gold.
