The Valencia Boat Show will not hold its 2023 edition, after the Navy did not allow the use of the space and the Union of Nautical Companies, owner and creator of this event, is already working on the 2024 edition.
The employers’ association regrets the decision of the Marina of Valencia that makes it impossible to hold the 2023 edition of what they consider “the most important nautical event of the Valencian Community”, the Union of Nautical Companies (UEN) reported it Monday.
This past year, UEN negotiated until the last minute with Feria Valencia, a strategic partner of the event, to achieve its celebration, which takes place in the Marina every year.
However, he reported, the current liquidators of the Valencia 2007 Consortium finally did not allow the use of La Marina de Valencia to implement it, so this annual event, which has a history of fourteen years, cannot open in its doors in 2023.
The president of the UEN, Isabel Gil, regrets “the situation of legal uncertainty and abandonment” that the companies located in La Marina have suffered for many years and that, in her opinion, “is reflected in the suspension of this Valencia Boat edition. Show”.
He added that it is “the only showcase of the real impact that the sector has to bring nautical and the sea closer to all users and that, after 14 years, it has become an unforgettable event for everyone.”
In his opinion, this fair represents an important economic development for the entire Valencian nautical sector and for the city, helping to deseasonalize, because it attracts a large number of people, including exhibitors, visitors and tourists, registered an increase in hotel occupancy and the consumption of goods and services.
In the last edition, held in October 2022, more than 20,000 visitors attended and the number of exhibitors has grown exponentially in the last 4 years, helping to position Valencia as an important nautical tourist destination , in addition to serving to introduce the Valencians. to the nautical world.
From the UEN they are optimistic and, although they are waiting for the resolution of the situation of La Marina de València with the new council, they are already talking so that the Valencia Boat Show can be held between October 30 and November 3, 2024 .
