New Delhi: Many touching stories have come to the fore during the second wave of Corona epidemic in the country. However, some such news also comes out, which shocks people. One such news came out from Andhra Pradesh, where a woman suffering from Corona was cremated, but she returned home after a few days alive.
According to the information received, a 75-year-old Kovid victim returned to her home and found that her family had cremated the body of another woman by mistake. The incident took place on Wednesday in Jaggaiyapet town of Krishna district.
According to local sources, a woman named Girijamma from Christianpet area got infected with Kovid. She was admitted to the Government Hospital in Vijayawada on May 12, after which her husband Gadayya returned home.
On May 15, when the husband went to the hospital to inquire about her condition, she found that Girijamma was missing from her bed and the hospital staff told her husband that she had been shifted to another ward.
Gadayya failed to trace Girijamma even after thoroughly examining all the wards of the hospital. Finally, the hospital staff asked Gadaya to find his wife at the mortuary. When he went to the mortuary, he found a dead body like that of his wife. He told the employee that he had recognized the dead body of his wife. The body was handed over to him along with the death certificate.
The relatives took the body home and cremated it. The couple’s son Ramesh also died on 23 May due to Kovid. Gadayya performed the last rites of Girijamma and Ramesh together on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Girijamma, who was still in the hospital, had recovered and wondered why no one had come to pick her up from home. On Wednesday she herself returned home.
Gadayya was stunned to see his wife. He felt it as a shock and could not believe his eyes. The elderly couple is now yearning for their son Ramesh.
