These are the events you can attend on Memorial Day weekend

This Monday, May 29, Memorial Day will be celebrated in the United States of America, and, as usual, some events will take place in New York over the weekend.

But if you are in this commemoration for the first time in the country, you should know that it is about the memory of members who gave their lives for their country. Because of this, there will be parades and other significant events to honor his life.

The park and beaches will also be open and a class exhibition will be held. We show you the best that you can attend.

Certainly in New York for Memorial Day

It will take place on Monday, May 29, in Brooklyn. As of 2023, that number is 156, making it one of the oldest in the state.
It will begin at Third Avenue and 78th Street at 11:00 am. Then it continues on Third Avenue to Marine Avenue, to Fourth Avenue, and to John Paul Jones Park.

    Manhattan, Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, Pier 86; US Naval Academy YP Four, Annapolis, Maryland – USCGC Quick Response Cutter Warren Deyampert (WPC-1151) from Boston, Massachusetts. (Its hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

    Country Pier, Staten Island: Harpers Ferry-class landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD-51) from Norfolk, Virginia – Spearhead-class fast transport USNS Newport (T-EPF 12) from Norfolk, Virginia – Medium Patience Cutter USCGC Legare (WMEC- 912) Portsmouth, Virginia.

  • The best attraction will be in the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, on Friday 26 May, where you can enjoy the sunset in addition to watching a movie. The movie to cover is “Top Gun”.
    They will also bring talks about science and history from the bike.

  • Concert at Green-Word Cemetery
  • On Monday evening, May 29, the ISO Symphonic Band will present a concert for those who have served in the armed forces. Take the opportunity to have a picnic with your family and friends, enjoying the music.

    At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, a historic troll tour will take place in commemoration of the memorial day.
    Along the way, you’ll hear stories from World War II veterans, along with insights from historian Jeff Richman.

    The tour includes memorials to soldiers, sailors, and airmen, as well as “Rosie Riveters,” nurses, and others who served the nation.

    The trip is about 2 and a half hours, where you will visit points such as the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Brooklyn Army Terminal, Sullivans Pier on Staten Island, Bayonne Dry Dock and the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum.
    You’ll also hear stories from the Revolutionary War to this day, with a special piece about World War II. And while you’re sailing on a 1920s-inspired yacht, you’ll visit historic military sites, monuments, and fortifications.

    Dates available: Friday 26th May and Monday 29th May. Ticket prices are between $86 and $112, which also include complimentary drinks. In case you are unable to attend, this page will be broadcast live.
