According to authorities, Aguilar Reyes was requested for extradition by the United States government, due to his alleged involvement in criminal activities.

According to authorities’ reports, at the time of his capture, Aguilar Reyes presented himself with Guatemalan identification under the name “Luis Carlos Sandoval Escobar.”
The 35-year-old detainee, originally from Santa Rosa de Copán, is charged with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute five kilograms of cocaine with intent to illegally import into the United States.
He is also charged with manufacturing and distributing five kilograms or more of cocaine with intent to illegally import into the United States.
The Extradition Court of First Instance of the Supreme Court issued a writ of arrest for extradition purposes against Aguilar Reyes, requested by the United States Government for the Eastern District of Texas.
