Every week in the state of Zulia, the Ministry of Popular Food Power (MINPAL) assesses the distribution of food through Merkal which once included the municipalities of Mara, Guajira and Baralt.
The scheme delivered 8.75 tons of food to 2,344 families in Gujira Municipality; In Baralt Municipality, residents of Marcelino Briseno Parish received 6,404 tons of food from the Venezuelan Food Producer and Distributor (PDVAL).

Jenny Cedino indicated that timely distribution of food benefits is accomplished through social programs of the Ministry of Manpower for food through workshops, where socialist missions and schools grounds through the CNAE (National School Food Corporation) are included with priority. , which has a mission to support and ensure the nutrition of children, adolescents and youth in the nation.
