Miami, December 4: Rescuers from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office in Florida (USA) found a crashed plane with at least two people on board in the Gulf of Mexico and found the lifeless body of a man inside the equipment. The man continues, officials said.
The “remains” of a rented Piper Cherokee single-engine plane were found by air commandos more than a mile (1.6 km) west of the coast this Sunday afternoon, Venice City Hall on Florida’s west coast said on Twitter.
Similarly, he said, divers from the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office found a dead minor “inside the passenger area of the plane.”
For its part, and citing police sources, local NBC Channel 8 indicated that a woman whose lifeless body was found at sea this Sunday was also traveling on the plane.
Authorities are currently searching for a “male pilot or passenger” who has not yet been found.
So far the people involved in this incident have not been identified.
Venice officials reported this afternoon that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had contacted local police regarding a small plane that took off from that city’s municipal airport on Saturday night but made it to its intended destination. never reached
The Venice Police Department (VPD) said the accident probably occurred about 2.5 miles (4 km) west of the Venice Fishing Wharf.
VDP has coordinated an investigation into the alleged accident with forces from the FAA, Venice Airport, the US Coast Guard, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
“The search effort will continue until sunset and will resume as conditions permit,” said the city of Venice, located in Sarasota County.
