They hold a workshop to review the standards for accrediting medical schools

The Dominican Association of Faculties (Schools) of Medicine (ADOFEM) organized a workshop to review the standards for assessment, regulation and accreditation of medical schools in the country.

“The Dominican Republic is one of the countries where the medical schools internationalize their graduating professionals in an important way, the challenge is to continue with these processes, within the building of the competencies of the students who will later graduate and leave generate a guarantee. PG”, said Dr. Miguel Robiu, President of ADOFEM.

“The Dominican Association of Faculties (Schools) of Medicine (ADOFEM) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mesquite) are going to guarantee that medical training in the Dominican Republic is within the profile of the doctor of the 21st century,” They said.

Action plans were presented in the workshop, progress of proposals and a plenary session to socialize initial options.

“This is one of the most important steps, which has been very well received by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology and the rectors who have a school of medicine and a faculty of health sciences,” he said.

It was attended by Mr. Franklin García Fermín, Mrs. Evarista Sánchez, Mr. Juan Francisco Viloria Sánchez, Deputy Minister of Accreditation and Quality, as well as all members of ADOFEM, headed by Dr. Miguel Robbieu and Marcos Núñez Cuervo, Dean. UNIBE’s Faculty of Health and other Deans and Directors of Medical Schools in the country.
