The Secretary of Culture, through the Baja California Institute of Culture, presents the long-awaited concert “Mexican Night”, a musical celebration of Mexican Independence that will fill our hearts with pride and color.
“Music is a universal language that unites people across generations and borders.
“On this occasion, we want to celebrate our rich Mexican musical tradition with a concert that makes us feel part of this beautiful Mexicanness that defines us. Music is a heritage that we share and unites us as one country,” emphasized Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos, Secretary of Culture.
This event will feature the participation of the Baja California Orchestra, under the artistic and musical direction of maestro Armando Pesqueira.
In addition, the Selection Choir and students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Contemporary Popular Music from the Center for Musical Arts will join the stage.
The repertoire will include traditional and popular Mexican music that is a part of our identity, such as “Indian Symphony”, “Sobre las Olas”, and the iconic “Pelea de Gallos”, among others.
The Baja California Orchestra is known for its musical versatility that ranges from baroque to contemporary music, from chamber music to symphonic and operatic works.
The OBC is a prestigious music institution recognized nationally and internationally, touring the stages of Mexico and the United States, including emblematic places such as Lincoln Center in New York and the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico.
This event is for the whole family and is aimed at audiences over 10 years old.
