The American company Shift Robotics has created the fastest shoes in the world called ‘Moonwalkers’.
The shoe, which has eight wheels, works with artificial intelligence (AI) and can increase walking speed by up to 250%.
“The average person walks about 5 kilometers or probably just under 5 kilometers per hour, but with the Moonwalkers they could go 11 kilometers per hour,” the company said.
The moon walkers that look like skateboards have a technology that does not allow them to roll freely as the user maintains balance.
The new shoes, which are worn over everyday footwear, are battery operated and take around 90 minutes to fully charge.
The price of Moonwalkers is about 1,400 dollars and is currently only sold in the US.
Through machine learning algorithms, the shoes allow the user to control when they want, go up or down the stairs and adjust their speed automatically.
“The faster you walk, the faster you go,” said Xunjie Zhang, the company’s founder and chief executive.
Zhang stated that the new invention can be used by anyone to “help all pedestrians”, whether they know how to skate or not.
“Like the moving walkways you see in airports, with every step you take, the conveyor belt moves under your feet, allowing you to move faster,” he confirmed.

It should be noted that the company also published a series of videos showing the appearance, explaining the function, answering user questions about how to break with these shoes or how to walk on slopes, among others.
