It’s been 12 days since Spanish authorities found the bodies of two Colombians in a hotel room in the city of Valencia, Spain. The corpses belong to a 54-year-old woman and a 25-year-old young man. Finally, an autopsy was performed and the cause of death was determined.
The deceased were the mother and child. They entered the hotel on August 30 at night. The servers of the venue detailed that since entering the couple did not come out of the room which is why they alerted the authorities.
After several calls to room 705, hotel officials and authorities realized that the mother and child were dead. The young man had a mental disability and, at first, it was believed that this could be one of the causes of death.
In the room, authorities found bottles of water and yogurt taken from the site for forensic analysis. This Tuesday the Scientific Police determined that the deaths occurred due to poisoning.
The reconstruction of the case shows that the woman first poisoned her child with a poisonous substance mixed with porridge. The young man’s corpse contained more poison. He was still able to vomit and spit blood out of his mouth.
After the young man died, the mother allegedly ingested the same substance. It is known that the woman is a psychologist by profession and has been living in Europe for several years.
Authorities have ruled out the involvement of a third person in the incident.
