The civil police, within the framework of the XELINSULAM-ALBACARES operation, began to arrest 15 people in Cantabria established as criminal organizations and committed to massive fraud against banking entities and the introduction of cocaine through the Port of Algeciras.
In the operation, two tons of cocaine, which were hidden in a vessel from Ecuador, were seized and assets were blocked, bank accounts, accounts in ‘neobanks’ and various properties, all adding up to a value of 1,524,000 euros. The Civil Guard reported to the press.
The operation began in February of last year, when agents became aware of a criminal network based in Castro Urdiales (Cantabria), dedicated to large-scale fraud against banking entities.
With continued investigations, it was discovered that this organization was brought in by a group of people of Colombian origin, with the aim of forming the core of the security and logistics necessary to introduce cocaine through the Port of Algeciras.
The civil guard was treated to identify Colombian citizens, since it was possible to know that these people are directly related to the Colombian cocaine laboratories, as well as to the network of hitmen and people running for justice in the United States.
With continued investigations, the agents were able to relate this arrangement to an ongoing investigation that was being carried out in Algeciras, where 2,458 kilograms of cocaine were hidden in tuna fish from a container in Ecuador.

As a result of the investigations, the agents obtained sufficient evidence to impute the seizure of 2,458 kilos of cocaine to the said organization, as well as to three commercial companies, proceeding to a police operation organized in five different provinces (Cantabria. , Vizcaya, Guipúzcoa, Madrid and Valencia).
The first detections were made in the town of Amorebieta (Vizcaya). Later, after the agents witnessed the delivery of 1 kilogram of sulfate (speed) during the operation, four arrests and four searches were made. In the records, among other results, more than 3 kilograms of marijuana ready for sale and two high-end vehicles were seized.
