Huge queues formed this Tuesday around the Salamanca Congress Palace to participate in the casting of a Bollywood film. The film will be shot in October this year in the city. With a little nerve and a lot of desire, it is only necessary to show up at 10:00 with the DNI or NIE and be patient.
This Tuesday, tests continue for people between 18 and 80 years old who are available to do work on October 16 and 21.
Many of those who were there were inspired by their passion for cinema and living a new experience. So, 23-year-old Sandra approached out of curiosity. “Now I’m not working or studying, I’ve been studying theater for a long time and it caught my attention a lot… I heard from a girl who came out that they just took a picture of us, I was in try and see what happens (laughs).”
For his part, Pablo, also 23 years old, together with his friend Marcos, 19 years old, was inspired because he likes the seventh art. “Just like when they filmed the movie ‘While the war lasts’ we also came and because it’s not something they do here every day. We are inspired again” where Pablo added: “Here, everything that comes and is committed to doing in Salamanca is positive and we support it,” he commented.
Many are involved in the world of performing arts or are in contact with the theater, as in the case of David Sánchez, 27 years old, and Álvaro Sánchez, 22 years old. “We’ve done everything from parades, to whole theme parades and street shows of all kinds… We know this little world. We participated in other castings held here, we like the theme of the staging… In addition, it is an advantage of the city to make a film of these characteristics and major trials,” they explained.
Manuel Delgado, 29 years old, is also fond of theater. “We know about the castings precisely through the theater group, small things are happening and they have a big impact on the city, we came as we want to act… At the moment, as a fun and we’ll see what happens,” he pointed out.
The entertainment world does not understand age. Jesús, 64 years old, Natalia, 50, and Susana, 49, together for the same reason, out of curiosity, took it with a lot of laughter. “They took pictures of us from the front, in profile, like Donald Trump, with a little sign like prisoners (laughs). I introduced myself to someone and it was very fun, met you are very good people” joked Jesús.
“I’m very happy, it’s a new experience. It’s amazing, a way to see the city and improve it,” said Natalia and Susana, to which Jesús added: “We also have a unique decoration, not right? We have to make the most of it.”
Alberto, 63, and Luis, 58, came to appear in a movie, “if they’re lucky. I did the casting for the pilot episode they did on ‘Romeo and Juliet’, which ended up being a mess (laughs). As an experience, it will be interesting to know a little about the ins and outs of this racket,” they said.
In this way, the pre-production work has started. This Monday, September 11, tests were conducted for boys and girls between 6 and 17 years old. Barring last-minute changes, the final airing dates are expected to be between October 16 and 21 this year.
The production company is looking for 400 extras who want to be part of the Hindi film team which is from the production company Yash Raj Films, and will be directed by Ayan Mukerji.
